We see communicating with the community as being an essential part of our work. Whether it is for the purpose of making the teaching-learning process interesting for teachers and children or for providing information and creating awareness on a wide range of themes, JSM collaborates with other rural educational centres in creating and disseminating a variety of communications material. These include video films, audiovisuals, audio programmes, and large-size flex charts.
Design and production of these materials involves a committed team of communications professionals who have knowledge, experience, and kinship with rural education and other development issues that address the needs of all sections of Adivasi communities ranging from children to farmers.
The dynamic collection, produced in the local language of Marathi, includes materials on mathematics, health and social issues, organic farming and agricultural technologies, as well as Marathi literacy and the learning of English.
These materials have been widely disseminated in seven districts of Maharashtra – Dhule, Nandurbar, Nashik, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, and Amravati.
Experienced JSM resource persons also conduct training programmes on developmental issues for field staff of other organizations.
